What Customers Say About NETGEAR WGPS606 54 Mbps Wireless Print Server with 4-port Switch:

I always like when hardware makes me look like a total fool at a customer's site.We expect better from a brand like Netgear. This thing is a joke. I can't yet tell you how well it works as a print server because its installation "program" is just outright total junk.

The solution was not found in any FAQ or on the companies wev site. After six hours of trying, I finally got it working. Just be ready to spend some time trying to get the product working. This device works great and does what it is designed to do, but the set up is a little difficult. I used the set up CD that came with the product, but it still did not work.

easy to setup, no problem printing from my laptop, now i have to unplug the power to reset it every time I want to print anything. Started out great.

The most recent firmware update appears to be December 22 2005.If you are running a WEP or WPA-TKIP network this device would be perfect for you, but if you are running anything with a current encryption scheme you are basically out of luck. Your options are WEP or WPA-TKIP. I purchased one of these print servers because I've had good luck with Netgear in the past. The good:Comes with a network cable and 2 USB cables. The setup is easy to click through. The bad:This device does not support WPA2.

I also was taking a chance because my printer - an older HP Color LaserJet 2550L - was not included on Netgear's list of supported printers. But in about 10 minutes of following the setup instructions, I had moved my printer to the next room, printed my first documents, and - best of all - reclaimed badly needed desk space. I knew I was taking a chance on this product after reading other reviews here, many of which were negative.
